Title: 2012 KSP Regional Workshop in Asia
Date: October 10~11, 2012
In an effort to share Korea's economic development experiences with development partner countries, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance of Korea launched the Knowledge Sharing Program (“KSP”) in 2004 with Korea Development Institute (KDI) as the implementing institution.
As of 2011, Korea has conducted KSP with 34 countries with over 300 research topics. In fact, from 2004 to 2011, KSP has completed policy consultation with six Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Philippines, with over 93 research topics. In 2012, KSP will be expanded to 33 countries with over 140 research topics.
In order to improve effectiveness of KSP and to provide a unique opportunity to discuss and share policy issues among KSP development partner countries, KSP Regional Workshops are planned to be held in Asia and Latin America in 2012.
Organized by KDI and Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, and hosted by Ministry of Strategy and Finance of Korea, this year’s KSP Regional Workshop in Asia was held in Bali, Indonesia, with delegations from KSP development partner countries in Southeast Asia from Oct 10th to Oct 11th, 2012, under the main theme of “Toward an Effective Management of Public Finance,” which is one of the major issues for KSP development partner countries in Southeast Asia.
